Movie Rating Booklet

Objectives | Designing a purely typographic brochure that tells the story of the topic.

Overview | The topic of movie ratings through time has always been interesting to me.  I collected information concerning the history of movie ratings and, ultimately, learned how they’ve changed the course of movie watching over the past 100 years. Building a concrete concept required general knowledge of the movie rating system and the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America).

Process | “Sometimes the part of your piece that you like the most is the part that is killing it.” (Del Parson, Brigham Young University–Idaho Faculty) Problem solving and revising when working on a project is a key component to making your piece successful. By sketching and visualizing different ideas, the concept becomes stronger and eventually increases the potential of the piece.
