Why So Serious?
Introduction | This was an assignment for my Documentary Photography Class at Brigham Young University–Idaho. The basic premise of the clean is to photograph things as they really are, in an interesting way. These photographs are based off of an assignment we had about embarrassing moments. We each went out and collected several embarrassing moments from people we knew to anyone off the street. We had them write the story down and we photographed them in a serious pose, hinting to the story in the background. read more below.
Objectives | Helping people see that embarrassing moments happen to everyone, and when you see the person, you may not think that they have experienced such things.
Learning Experience | Developing trust was one of the first things I learned in this assignment. I feel that I have a talent in communication, and I bring comfort to any conversation I close. I had a difficult time giving people a reason to participate, but putting for that effort gave me some great stories.
My Process | The process is still happening, but I think it’s great to collaborate with my group members to find the best stories for the book that we are putting together. Some stories are easier to photograph then others, and finding the best way to describe some of these stories has really helped me grow in my creativity.

John was a true sport and I enjoyed his serious looks even when we were goofing around.
